I fly the drone and I cut the film
CD_OGRAPHY is me, Charlie. One person, which means the person who plans the shoot is the person who turns up, flies it and edits it. Nothing gets lost being handed between a producer, a pilot and an editor, because there is only one of each.
How it started
Drones first, business second
The flying came before the invoices. FPV is a thing you have to be slightly obsessed with to get good at, because there is no autopilot and no second chance on a line through a doorway. That is the part that turned out to be worth paying for.
Who I work with
Trades, mostly, and on purpose
Groundworks, landscaping, garden rooms, showrooms and gyms. Visual businesses where the finish is the whole argument and nobody has an afternoon spare to film it. Because most of the work has come from there, I arrive knowing what matters on the job rather than asking.
How I work
Plan it, fly it, cut it, hand it over
Flight paths and a shot list before I arrive, so the time on site is spent filming. Every cut comes back to you before it goes anywhere. If you are on the full package I write it, schedule it and post it as well.
The practical details
£5 million public liability
Covered for commercial work on site, in a showroom or over a property.
Flown inside CAA rules
Every flight is planned and flown within UK Civil Aviation Authority regulations.
Weather reschedules free
Sussex weather is not your problem. If a shoot is called off we move it, with no penalty.
Based in West Sussex
Most work is within an hour of home. Further afield is fine, there may be a travel cost.
Ground, drone and FPV
Three different tools, used where each one earns its place rather than because it is impressive.
One person throughout
You deal with me from the first call to the final file.
Businesses I film for
Groundworks, landscaping, garden rooms, showrooms and gyms, across Sussex.
Working with me
-
Yes. For a second camera on a bigger shoot I bring somebody in, but the planning, the flying and the edit are mine.
-
To confirm with Charlie before this goes live. Operator ID, Flyer ID and any A2 CofC or GVC belong here, because every competitor that outranks him publishes theirs.
-
Yes, flown properly. Every flight is planned and flown within CAA rules, and I carry £5 million public liability insurance. If a site has specific restrictions, tell me early and I will plan around them.
-
We move the shoot. There is no penalty for weather.

West Sussex mostly, and across the South East. See the areas I cover.

Tell me what the project is, where it is and roughly when. I will tell you what I would shoot and what it would cost, before you commit to anything.
