An indoor flight through a new showroom
A new showroom and warehouse that nobody had seen yet. The job was to show the depth of stock, which is the actual reason to drive there, in a way a photograph of one aisle cannot.
The brief
Show the stock, not a corner
Stock carpets, remnants, vinyl and LVT. The selling point is how much there is, and that needs movement to convey.
Help people find it
A new unit on a business park. Half the job is making the place findable and the parking obvious.
One take
A tour that cuts every three seconds feels like a slideshow. An unbroken flight feels like walking in.
In time for opening
Filmed and cut around the opening weekend.
What I filmed
In through the front
Starting outside so the approach and the entrance are part of it.
Down the aisles
A single continuous pass through the showroom floor and into the warehouse.
The racking
Up and over the rolls, which is the shot that shows the volume.
Ranges and displays
Slowing into the sample stands.
Parking and access
The practical bit that gets left out and then gets asked about.
The team
Who you will meet when you walk in.
About this one
-
No. Quiet helps, so before opening is ideal, but the place does not need to be empty.
-
This one runs about forty seconds, which is right for a feed. A longer cut for a website homepage is a standalone project film at £650.
-
Most content sessions are a few hours on site. I plan the flight paths and the shot list beforehand so the time on site is spent filming rather than working out what to film.
